Monument Move Photos Courtesy of Mike Saliba

The following photos are in the possession of Mike Saliba, son of George Saliba. Mike also shared a scrapbook that contained photos of Souther Field from the WWI era. Click here to view those photos.

Statues dedicated to fallen heroes of the Confederacy and WWI were located at the center of the intersections of Forsyth and Lee and Lamar and Lee streets respectively. In 1947 they were removed to Rees Park where they currently rest. The following photos are of the removal from the intersections.
